Hi-Fi Rush

Hi-Fi Rush, Bethesda Softworks, 2023

  1. Release date: January 25
  2. Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X/S
  3. Our score: 8.5/10

Hi-Fi Rush is the biggest surprise of 2023 so far. It surprised us not only with playability, but also its... release. Shortly after the game was announced, it appeared on Game Pass, and numerous positive impressions of Hi-Fi Rush quickly began to surface. This production turned out to be a dynamic slasher akin to Devil May Cry, but it is distinguished by the ingenious incorporation of music into the gameplay and the need to watch your rhythm. All this befits the atmosphere, because we play the role of a rock star whose heart is somehow connected to a music player.

Reviewers generally raved about Hi-Fi Rush, praising almost each element of the game. From the atmosphere, to characters, art style to fast-paced action with platforming elements and combat. What's most impressive is how this action is combined with great music, incorporating mechanics from rhythm games. In the jungle of endless sequels and remakes, Hi-Fi Rush brings a lot of freshness and originality.
